Back to the UK – Kandersteg

Hey back on UK soil and yeh just like last time I hate coming home as you know its the end of another awesome adventure.

Kandersteg is truly a beautiful place to visit. The week was intense and I loved every minute of it. Sunday involved a walk to the village and learning about the centre KISC [Kandersteg International Scout Centre] which is 90 years old. Its run mainly by volunteers who are called pinkies down tje the colour of there clothing.

Monday was a day of rafting in two groups and a short stop on the way back at a local town.
Tuesday involved a good walk up to Oeschinensee where we got to go on the rollerbarn which involves a metal slide with carts that run down the track, lots of fun. After a short walk a couple of us went for  a dip in the glacier lake, very cold but an awesome experience.
Wednesday saw the start of our two days of walking, with Ali and myself taking groups up a slightly different route with more experience required. We all met up at Schwarenbach mountain hut. Here we walked on up to a local lake before returning for dinner and a night in a mountain hut 🙂
Thursday brought with it awesome sunshine and for the groups Ali and I were with a walk up to a peak of 2497m with excellent views. From here a decent back down to kandersteg at 1200m.
After dinner a lovely sauna to ease the legs.
Friday was crate stacking and zip wire fun. With a final trip into the village before a fantastic camp fire in the evening which rounded up the week.

I will be sifting through all the pictures and videos over the coming week and will put them up in another post.

Its been an awesome week and its been great to be there with some really great friends. I will be going back as soon as I can and probably as a pinkie.
