First few days were fishy

Saturday was our first real day here. We had a lie in as we were shattered from the previous days travels. When we were up we headed out for breakfast/lunch in the form of a subway. From here on to a couple of rental places to get prices for a car for a day. Then we headed of to Waikiki Dive Center. Here we chatted and booked up for diving the next day.
From here we headed to the aquarium which was small but really good and worth a visit, cost $9 each. It has a small outdoor area with seals and fish tanks, but the indoor area has lots of tanks full of many different species, they also have jellyfish!
That evening we went to watch the changing of the kings guards. It was a great short performance that was put on which included the lowering of the Hawaiian flag. It incorporates the American strips and the England Jack! I think they meant the Union Flag.
After this a quick walk along the beach and we were back at Denny’s for dinner. After about 10mins there was Police Do Not Cross tape outside and we wandered what was going on. Well Obama was coming for dinner, not in Denny’s but a local hotel next to us. After our dinner we also stood on the pavement for around 30mins before getting board and deciding to head back to the hotel. We did see I’m on the way back even if it was just a cardboard cutout.

Sunday, this was going to be a good day of diving, this time in the waters of Hawaii. We got to the dive center for 10am and got sorted for going out. We met and English girl in our group and found out that she is studying in NY. We were driven to a local bay and taken out in the boat, it was ruff. We arrived at the dive site and we were eager to get under the water as it was pitching the boat a lot. I was in and made my decent quickly as to get under the strong swell. Waiting on the bottom and playing around looking at the fish while waiting for the introductory divers to come down. When they got down with me I found that Amanda was not with them, this concerned me somewhat but the was nothing I could do about it. We swam around and saw many fish species and also a turtle hiding from the current under a shelf. The fish ate from our had as we found a rock with fish eggs on they were eating and so passed it around and they continued to eat from the rock on our hand, that was cool!
On arriving on the surfaces I could see e pale face of Amanda on the boat. She had found it hard to be comfortable with the equipment and the ruff conditions, I don’t blame her I didn’t overly enjoy it. I went for the second dive but at about 6m I couldn’t get my right ear to equalise so I had to cancel the dive.
Now we were both sat on the boat and I didn’t feel great as the boat was really moving around, I even thought I was going to be sick at one point and I never get sea sick!
Back on dry land and we both felt much better if disappointed. A nice hot bath and we then headed of to see Kings guards who were putting on a full display at 18:15. Amanda shot video as shown below while I shot stills.
It was then another trip back to yep you guessed it Denny’s, shame they don’t offer a loyalty card.
