Hula the island, Pineapple, Pearls and Apple

Its a holiday nobody should be up at 6am but we were and on our way to Enterprise for 7am to pick up our rental. It was the first time both of us would be driving on the wrong side of the road in an auto.
On arrival we had a choice of a VW Jetta or a Dodge, I was up for the Dodge as have driven a Jetta before, thankfully Amanda too liked the Dodge. I drove first then when out of the city and on highway to North Shore we swapped.
Not before long we arrived at the Dole plantation. If you like Pineapple this is the place to go! Literally everything Pineapple. We took the train around the plantation and felt like a herded tourist. After this we wandered around the garden and looked at the plants where Amanda spotted some geckos. Cost $11 each for tour and gardens.
Before long we were back on the road heading North with Amanda driving, its a good way to keep her quite.

We wandered around a small north shore town where I discovered a Patagonia shop, so naturally had to go and see what they had. Amands begged me to buy a belt as my short keep falling down and she had seen enough of my ass.

I celebrated this purachase with an ice cream, well if i eat enough i wont need the belt!

From here we continued on the north road around the island, I was now being shafure driven. We stopped of at sunset beach where i got some cooked shrimp, which was delicious. Next we stopped for a fresh coconut which Amanda drank as i didn’t overely enjoy the taste.

We continued around the rest of the island stopping of on the way before getting back to Waikiki just before 8pm to return the car.The rest of the evening was spent relaxing in the hotel as we were to be up early the next day.

Its the Final day of Hawaii, we were up early again as today we were of to Pearl Harbour. We had to be there for 9:15 for our tour of the USS Arizona memorial. We got the bus at 7:45 and arrived at 9am. We checked in our bags and went on in, it was quite busy and after we got our tickets that we had reserved a couple of days before we headed on to the first part a 23minute movie explaining the background on Pearl Harbour. After this we were shuttled over to the memorial on a boat where we got around 10-15 minutes to look around the memorial before we were shuttled back. It was all very rushed and felt more like a tourist attraction than a memorial which is very disappointing and I think somewhat disrespectful to the all the men involved in the attack on Pearl Harbour. I found it more distasteful that people were having the happy silly pictures taken at monuments around the site.

After the tour we had a quick look around the rest of the site before getting the bus back to Waikiki which took just over an hour. It was then that we decided to go and visit the ‘The Cheesecake Factory’ for lunch and had a very unhealthy nachos with some lunchtime beers followed by oreo cookie cheesecake. Well it was all really nice and after this we had to go for a bit of a lie down as we were both stuffed! We started our packing and got most of it sorted.

That evening we visited the beach for one last time and had a play around with long exposures and the phone to do some writing in the sky, see below. These came out quite well and after we went back to the Apple store and I spent quite a bit on the credit card, well its a lot cheaper here than it is at home! not all of the toys were for me thought 🙁
