I Wanaka see Mt. Cook

We were up at a reasonable time on boxing day and left site around 10.30am heading for Wanaka, around 200km drive. We decided on the way to tiki tour off up to Mt. Cook around an hours drive off route, but very much worth it. We stopped at many points on the route to take in the awe-inspiring views. At the village itself we went into the visitor centre to see the search and rescue display, very interesting and hands on.

We stopped of on the way at ‘The Wrinkly Rams’ we had a coffee and I couldn’t say no to a hokey pokey ice cream!

The journey on from here was a long and windy one we clocked up around 200km before finally getting to Wanaka.
