NYE NZ Style

So we were up late today, not really caring as we weren’t in a massive rush to get anywhere. we sorted stuff around the van, jumped online and were finally ready to leave around 12:00 when we started to chat to our neighbour and only moved on when someone came to occupy our place.

We got into Nelson about 13:15 and while I sat in the I-Site and used up the rest of our WiFi allowance Amanda took a wander around Nelson. I spent a while but eventually found somewhere for us in San Fran to stay only about 5 minutes before she returned. We booked it and were both a happy that this was another place that was sorted.

After this we decided to visit the centre of New Zealand. This geographical centre just happened to coincide with being on top of a hill on the outskirts of Nelson, so up we went. It gave a great view over the city and bay area.

From here we returned to the town for a quick stroll around together before heading out to the New World supermarket to park up. This is where we were going to stay for the night as it was close to town so we could drink the New Year in and be able to walk back to our bed, it was also free! Pizza Hut for dinner and then to town for beers.

The New Years free event in Nelson was an Alcohol free event, luckily it was right next to two bars so bring on the beers! just before midnight we moved to the main area to welcome in the New Year with the traditional countdown.
