Taking the Kids to PuzzleWorld

So the night before we stayed down the road in a place called albert town. We stayed outside a pub as it was free overnight parking there.

Today was the day I took the child [Amanda] to Puzzleworld. This is the place I had been told about in detail the previous day!

We arrived after stopping of in Wanaka to get some items and also went to a home made ice cream place where we shared kiwi, apple pie and hokey pokie flavours. After though we headed to puzzleworld, the place full of tourists, Yayyy! We paid the $17 each to get in and wandered around the Illusion rooms first which were pretty cool. This lead on to many other rooms full of different illusions including the room that was on an almost 45′ angle which made it look like balls rolled up hill and water flowed up hill. After this we started on the maze outside where you have to find the 4 corners and it includes bridges to get around the maze. We started of and took time to figure the first out but after this we did really well and clocked up the other 3 corners rapidly.

After another ice cream we hit the road heading for Franz Josef Glacier. Stopping of on the way at a few placing including a waterfall.

We stopped of at Haast and had lunch, just before this we saw a rental parked sideways of the road, everyone was ok so we had to laugh, wandering how they had managed on a straight bit of road.

The road from here follows the coast line up the Glacier Highway SH6. We pulled of to see the wild west coast. Up to Fox Glacier and we stopped her to get internet to try to sort out bookings for the glacier guides. we found out Franz Josef was very booked up and so could get a heli-hike at Fox for 2 days time early in the morning so booked this at $400 each, not cheap but we thought would be an amazing experience and one of the main things I want to do in NZ.

Now that was sorted we headed to Lake Matheson and took an evening walk around the lake. It was a lovely evening with a slight breeze over the lake causing a slight ripple and not prefect reflection. We were intending on returning early the next day at sunrise to try to get the prefect shot.

we headed of to were we hand planned to stay for the night, a free place. When we got there we saw a sign that said no overnight parking. ummmm what to do, so we headed to the holiday park down the road we were thinking of staying the next night at 11:30 at night to see if they had anywhere to stay, they did. We booked in and got dinner and headed to bed.
